INTERNAL COMPLIANT COMMITTEE

In accordance with the provisions of ‘The Sexual Harassment of Women at the Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013,’ the college has established an Internal Complaints Committee (ICC). The Sexual Harassment Redressal Cell has been set up to address and resolve complaints from women, adhering to the guidelines provided by the UGC and the Supreme Court.

The Cell's objectives include:

· Raising Awareness: Organizing seminars, special talks, and discussions on sexual harassment and the mechanisms available for redressal.

· Informal Resolution: Initially adopting informal methods to resolve complaints amicably.

· Formal Inquiry: Conducting detailed inquiries if necessary, ensuring a fair and unbiased investigation.

· Supportive Approach: Employing a humanistic approach when handling complaints, ensuring the well-being of the complainant.

· Safe Environment: Creating a secure and open environment where individuals can speak freely about their experiences without fear of retaliation.

The Sexual Harassment Redressal Cell plays a crucial role in maintaining a respectful and safe campus environment, ensuring that all complaints are addressed promptly and effectively.

Functions of the Internal Complaints Committee

· Review and Recommendations: The Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) will review all issues related to women in the workplace and provide suggestions and recommendations to the college administration on these matters.

· Event Organization: The committee will organize events, such as programs on Women's Day, and other relevant occasions as deemed necessary. The committee will report directly to the principal.

· Legal Compliance: The committee will adhere to applicable Acts, government rules, and court orders, ensuring compliance with relevant legal frameworks as they evolve.

· Awareness and Prevention: The committee will foster gender equality and promote awareness to prevent sexual harassment by organizing activities and initiatives for staff, students, and other employees.

These functions ensure that the ICC actively contributes to a safe and respectful environment within the college, addressing issues related to women's welfare and promoting gender harmony.

 Activities of the Cell                                                                              

1. Displays the information about the programmes of the Cell on notice boards of the offices, hostels and departments in the College

2. Creates awareness on forms of harassment and redressal through the articles, press notes etc.,

3. Conducts Seminars, Special Talks and Speech Competition
